Robert John Odenkirk, born October 22, 1962 in Berwyn, Illinois (United States), is an American actor, screenwriter, producer and director. He is best known for his role as Saul Goodman, the crooked lawyer for the American series Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul and his role as Bill Oswalt in the television series Fargo.

Bob was born in Berwyn and raised near Naperville, Illinois in the United States. He is one of the seven children of Barbara and Walter Odenkirk, and grew up in this Catholic family. Her father, Walter Odenkirk, was employed in the printing industry. Her parents divorced. Bob Odenkirk has Irish and German origins. His father's fight against alcoholism may have influenced Bob's decision to avoid alcohol almost all the time. Bob Odenkirk is largely influenced by the Monty Python's Flying Circus, in particular as for the alliance of an intellectual humor and a certain simplicity.
