Kevin McKidd, born August 9, 1973 in Elgin, Scotland, is a British actor. After studying dramatic art, he quickly acquired a certain notoriety by taking one of the first roles in the film Trainspotting (1996).

After playing in several independent British films, he gained international recognition through television by playing the roles of Lucius Vorenus in Rome and of Doctor Owen Hunt in Grey's Anatomy, a series of which he also directed several episodes.
