Catherine O'Hara is a Canadian actress born on March 4, 1954, in Toronto. She is best known in France for her roles in the film Beetlejuice, by Tim Burton, and in the films A series of Unfortunate Events, and Home Alone II: Lost in New York, by Chris Columbus.

Catherine Anne O'Hara was born into a family of Irish descent and was raised Catholic. She attended Burnhamthorpe Collegiate Institute. Catherine O'Hara began her career in 1974 as a member of The Second City theater group in her hometown. She worked as an understudy for Gilda Radner until she joined Saturday Night Live.
