Christopher Eccleston is a British actor, born on February 16, 1964, in Salford (He lived then in Lancashire and now in Greater Manchester). He is particularly known for having played the role of David in Shallow Grave of Danny Boyle and that of the Ninth Doctor in the British series Doctor Who during its first season.

Christopher Eccleston studied at the Central School of Speech and Drama. He attracted the attention of the public with the release of the film Let Him Have It in 1991. He then landed a role in the television series Cracker in 1993. In 1994, he played alongside Ewan McGregor and Kerry Fox in Shallow Grave, the first film by Danny Boyle.
