Ming-Na, or Ming-Na Wen (pinyin: Wēn Míng-Nà), born in Coloane Island in Macau on November 20, 1963, is a Chinese-American actress. She was revealed to the general public through the role of Doctor Jing-Mei Chen in the medical series ER, the actress confirms this breakthrough through her role of Camille Wray in the science fiction series Stargate Universe, and that of agent Melinda May in the Marvel superhero series: Agents of SHIELD.

Ming-Na's mother, Lin Chan Wen, divorces when she was an infant. The family leaves the Macao Peninsula for Hong Kong. Her mother becomes a nurse and meets Soo Lim Yee, an American-Chinese businessman, whom she marries. The blended family emigrated to New York when Ming-Na was only four years old, then moved to Pittsburgh. She learned English and quickly took an interest in acting. She has an older brother, Jonathan. In high school, she began to act in various plays. She studied at Lebanon High School and eventually obtained her theater diploma with honors from Carnegie-Mellon University.
