Terrence Alan "Terry" Crews is an American actor born on July 30, 1968, in Flint, Michigan. He is best known for his role as Julius Rock in the Everybody Hates Chris series, his Terry Jeffords character in the Brooklyn Nine-Nine series as well as for his Hale Caesar character in The Expendables movie saga.

Before starting his artistic career, he was an American football player and played as a defensive end and linebacker. Drafted in 1991 by the Los Angeles Rams, he played seven seasons in the National Football League with the Rams, San Diego Chargers, Washington Redskins, and Philadelphia Eagles.
